NFL Week 16 Predictions Featuring Browns vs. Texans
Out of our NFL Week 16 predictions above, one of our favorite plays is between two AFC teams making their playoff push. Right now, the Browns hold a Wild Card spot while the Texans are on the outside looking in, but we’re still backing Houston.
They’ll be at home, and we’re looking to jump on this point spread early while it’s still under three. We say that because we expect rookie QB CJ Stroud to be back this week, and once that is confirmed, the Texans will likely become even heavier favorites. That may seem strange given that he’s a rookie, but he’s playing on an MVP-caliber level.
Of course, playing against Cleveland’s stout defense is a tough task, but they continue to be a part of nail-biting games, and they cannot keep up these dramatic, last-second wins. The Texans should also have some extra motivation after seeing the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday Night Football - they now have the same record atop the AFC South.
Despite these not being divisional rivals, they still play more often than you’d think, as is this fourth straight season in which they’ll be taking on one another. In their last five matchups, Houston is 4-1 against the spread. That’s been without Stroud, a stud rookie LB in Will Anderson Jr. and one of the top Coach of the Year candidates in DeMeco Ryans.
